An Exhausting Journey

One of the most exhausting day's I can remember of recent was moving in to my house in Narragansett, Rhode Island, in September of this year. I was dreading this day for at least a week before it occurred. No matter how excited I was to get back to the University of Rhode Island and reunite with my friends, there was nothing about move in day that seemed appealing. It took me a week before my departure to pack everything I needed to bring with me. I started my journey on the morning of move in day by waking up at around 8 am. For the next hour I moved everything I had packed out of my house and into the driveway. That was followed with trying to fit everything into my car. That was a mission in itself. This was my third year moving everything from New Jersey to Rhode Island and it just never seems to get any easier. The first two years my car was a Jeep Compass, which is spacious in comparison to an average car. This year I got a new Jeep Liberty, which is even more spacious, but still stuffing it full was a challenge. An hour and a half after first attempting to pack up my car, I was finally finished. The next step was the lovely three and a half hour car drive up to Rhode Island. There couldn't be a more boring drive than this. You take I-95 literally the entire way. Luckily, I left at a decent time and missed traffic. I arrived at my new house in Narragansett around noon. However, unluckily for me, by noon it had become a nice hot day, about 85 degrees. My other roommates and I talked with the owner of our house for a bit, than began unpacking. Of course, I the room I chose is on the third floor of the house. Therefore, I got to unpack my completely stuffed car, and move everything up three floors to my room. Keep in mind, I have five other roommates also moving in. So at the same time everyone was unloading, unpacking, carrying heavy things and going both up and down the staircases all at the same time. This was the process that I was dreading most. The temperature outside, combined with lifting, carrying, running back and forth, as well as up and down, combined for a completely exhausting experience. After bringing everything up to my room, than came time to decide how I wanted to set everything up, make my bed, put away and hang up all my clothes. Another process that I would never refer to as easy. After finally finishing I would say I happy with how my room turned out. And probably needless to say, the first thing I did afterwards was take a nice long cold shower, followed by a peaceful nap.
